Well, you can expect the rumor mill to start anew after yesterday’s announcement that the only child of former president Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton is engaged. Chelsea and boyfriend Marc Mezvinsky e-mailed friends and family the other day to say, yes, they’re tying the knot.

“We’re sorry for the mass email but we wanted to wish everyone a belated Happy Thanksgiving!’’

wrote the couple, who spent the holiday together in New York.

“We also wanted to share that we are engaged! We didn’t get married this past summer despite the stories to the contrary, but we are looking toward next summer and hope you all will be there to celebrate with us. Happy Holidays! Chelsea & Marc.’’

Mezvinsky, 31, is a banker and, like Clinton, a Stanford grad. His dad is former Iowa congressman Ed Mezvinsky and his mom is former Pennsylvania congresswoman Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky. The word on the Vineyard last summer was that the couple was planning a lavish wedding at the home of FOBs Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen. Clinton, who’s known Mezvinsky since they were teenagers, is pursuing a graduate degree at Columbia University’s School of Public Health. Before that, she worked at Avenue Capital, a hedge fund run by prominent Democratic donor Marc Lasry.
