Frenchboro is a town in Hancock County, Maine, United States, and a village within this town located on Outer Long Island in Blue Hill Bay. The population was 38 at the 2000 census.

12 islands in the Gulf of Maine comprise the town,they are Black Island, Crow Island, Duck Islands, Drum Island, Green Islands, Harbor Island ,Long Island ,Mount Desert Rock ,Placentia Island ,Pond Island .

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 94.6 square miles , of which, 4.8 square miles of it is land and 89.7 square miles of it is water.

On Wednesday 29th April, 2009 Frenchboro Maine was outlined on “The Oprah Winfrey Show”. Even though Opera herself didn’t travel to the island but she did interviewed all the residents of the island via Skype “internet video conferencing software”, the total population of the island is about 40. Let me tell you here that a ferry does run three times a week from Bar Harbor to Frenchboro Maine.

The offshore fishing village of Frenchboro hosted the 47th annual Frenchboro Lobster Dinner on Saturday, 8TH August 2009 was celebrated at banks of Lunt Harbor features a beautiful boat ride and some of the best lobster in the world.
