Twins Tigers Game

The game between the Detroit Tigers and Minnesota Twins is far from over but we’ll update you on the score throughout the day.

LIVE UPDATE: Bottom of the 11th.  Score tied 5-5.  Denard Span up first.  The man who guaranteed a Twins’ victory hits one hard but Curtis Granderson makes a great diving catch coming in hard from the outfield.  Orlando Cabrera and Joe Mauer next up.  Cabrera called out on strikes on a really iffy call.  Second iffy strike of the at-bat.  Gardenhire had to escort Cabrera off the field because he was mad at the call. Mauer grounds out on the first pitch.

Orlando Cabrera hit a 2-run shot in the 7th to give Minnesota the lead but Magglio Ordonez answered with a 1-run shot in the 8th before Joe Nathan came in to get out of the inning.  Detroit took a 5-4 lead in the top of the 10th inning on a Brandon Inge double before a Matt Tolbert single in the bottom of the inning tied it up.

Detroit had runners on 1st and 3rd with no outs in the top half of the 9th but were unable to get a score across home plate.  Now it’s up to Minnesota to win this game.

The Tigers drove in all of their other runs in the 3rd inning with Magglio Ordonez singling home Curtis Granderson for the score before Miguel Cabrera went deep for a 2-run shot.

Minnesota scored their first run on a botched pickoff attempt from Tigers’ starter Rick Porcello.  Smart base running saw Matt Tolbert come home for the Twins.  Jason Kubel added a 1-run homer innings after.

Ryan Rayburn, Magglio Ordonez and Miguel Cabrera have 2 hits each for the Tigers while Joe Mauer leads the Twins with 2 hits.
